fake is the new real

Lea Knutti

The boundaries between fake and real are becoming blurred and the area in between is becoming omnipresent. Using the example of fur, I deal with deception and authenticity in this work and question our ability to judge. Fur serves as a corpus because, depending on the context, it is read as a status symbol or stigma and thus stands between political, classist and moral issues.
