Do you see me in my trophy?
The term “trophy wife” is often used ironically and stereotypically on social media. Yet it is not merely a pop-cultural phenomenon, but a structural term that points to real societal power relations. In this work, the figure of the trophy wife does not function as a cliché, but as a starting point for a multilayered exploration.
A fictional dialogue with a magpie forms the narrative framework. “Dear Magpie, I said, I have questions.” The magpie does not respond clearly. Yet questions arise in the space in between.
Woven paper images create a visual nest in which role models, expectations, and personal projections overlap.
