Handle with Care

Lia Schürpf

Handle with Care deals with the complexity of the object. The theoretical work focuses on the basement and attic, as well as the objects found there.

The basement shelf guides us through the theoretical work and deals with the definition of “liminal objects” and “non-liminal objects.” In the practical examination, the banana box becomes the object of observation. 115 bananas and 115 objects are juxtaposed, questions are addressed to the reader, and stories about objects are developed. This serves to provide a nuanced understanding of our objects, their origins, and their potential future.
