Le verlan au fil du temps

This project explores French rap and verlan as forms of oppositional cultural expression. The theoretical booklet analyzes rap as a tool of resistance, highlighting its various characteristics in the form of an essay. The practical part is an edition composed primarily of photographs, retracing the key moments in the history of verlan.
My challenge was to represent this history through a visual approach that plays with mirror effects, transparency, layering, and inversion, in order to translate the transformation of language through verlan into images.
